Bayside Peninsula Building recently became a HIA GreenSmart Professional.
What's that I hear you ask?
The HIA GreenSmart Professional accreditation process is designed to make builders and potential new home owners aware of the environmentally-friendly options they have when building a new home.
The main areas that are taken into account are:
- Global / local issues
- Sustainable development
- Site considerations
- Solar passive design
- Site management
- Water management
- Insulation
- Windows
- Waste management
- Continuing operating costs
All of these areas are taken into account before the building even commences ensuring that the final dwelling is as energy efficient as possible, increasing the value of the property and ensuring that it can be maintained with a lower running cost than a similar dwelling had these measures not been put into place.
Our most important visible difference is in the area of waste management during the building phase. All materials are ordered exactly, thus minimising waste and expense. Any waste that is generated is sorted into different categories and recycled where possible. All builder's waste is professionally removed upon completion of the job and the site is tidied and prepared to the client's requirements.
In short, a HIA GreenSmart Professional makes your dream home not only come true, but ensures that it will not cost you or the environment in the future.
